REMIX of Alice in Wonderland

After the class discussion about the concept of "remix", I started thinking about what remixes out there I really liked. First I thought of the collages I did when I was ten years old of Leonardo DiCaprio. Then I remembered a video someone showed me that I think is a really great example of a remix. This 19 year old australian editing wiz kid took audio from Disney's Alice in Wonderland and made a song with the audio (90% of it). I assume he added the drum beat himself. I think the song is pretty catchy and dreamy. He also edited the footage from the movie nicely to correspond with his song.

Here is the link to the video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMurlKaAj_4

I would like to do something similiar without being too ambitious. I was thinking of doing a simple part from the song Somewhere Over the Rainbow. I was thinking of using Wizard of Oz footage. I don't think I would be able to do a whole song, but perhaps just a part of one wouldn't be too bad. I noticed in the kid's video he had a nice mix of layers. I wonder how long it took him to do it. Maybe I should stick with a Leo DiCaprio collage instead.....
I wonder if there are other songs I should try to remix and make my own also. There are quite a few Alice in Wonderland remixes on youtube. I can't wait for the Tim Burton remix!

(p.s. saw the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland and it was AWFUL. Total bummer. Why does he have to be so mainstream and cheesy?)

Better late than never I suppose...

This is a video i saw a few years ago, made by a couple of guys with a still camera, and aside from some animation at the beginning with the letters its all still photos. I have done some stop motion myself so i thought this was pretty cool.

Hey I dropped the ball on this, so heres my late entries for the viral video project. I don't do the whole youtube thing as much as others, but I do enjoy watching current T.V. so here are two of my favorite segments.

First, Target Women's Sarah Haskin's goes to a Twilight convention, in an effort to learn why girls just love vampires so much.

Next, being this project is about viral videos, heres a clip from the Viral Video Film School.
In another related topic, this episode is all about people being stupid in the snow!

Zack Silver- viral video post

I found this video in one of my classes last semester. I like it because of the way it incorporates the interesting facts, with cool visuals and a fast paced song.

Being a person that view youtube, whether educational or just entertainment, I find myself on it quite regularly. For instance i need a couple viral videos below

John Curall-Viral Video

Hey Guys,

I don't really spend a lot of time on Youtube so this is all pretty new to me. Here are two videos I found that interested me and that seemed like that had a format that was exploitable for a project. The second video has some foul language in it. We are all adults here, but if that sort of thing offends you please do not watch. The first one seems to have various other permutations that might be interesting too.

Thanks and enjoy!

Possible video response candidate jawn

So, there are a lot of furby torture videos on youtube and this is one of them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_PWk-CZaAU

A possible video response could be from the furby's perspective actually torturing people or somehow getting back at "us".

Viral Animation Video

A friend of mine goes to UArts and showed me this video a long time ago. It's a little different but the idea of graffiti art being animation is interesting.
