A lot of people in class are making portfolio sites as their finals. As am I, but I'm selling myself as an editor. And film and video editors need demo reels to showcase their work to possible employers. It simply displays the editor's best work and skills in short commercial.
When making my Demo Reel for my portfolio site, I consulted this article by Bill Davis. It lists some very helpful tips when composing a decent demo reel.
